Met and exceeded my goal for July: 45 to 50 miles.

Last night, I added two more miles for a total of 59 miles for July. I wanted to round it off this morning with a 1 mile run, but my foot was stiff and sore from the last couple of days. If it loosens up, I may run this evening...or...I may buy a pint of Haagen Dazs Dark Chocolate to celebrate.

Goal for August: 65 to 70 miles.

I've only run about 10 miles this month (I should add that I've also biked about 60 miles). Worst month all year by far. I've just been really busy, and on the days I haven't been busy I've been exhausted from the days that I was. Hopefully I can get back into form in August.

I didn't do very well uploading my runs to DailyMile, but it looks like I was in the 40 mile range running with another 35 or so cycling.  I'll take it.

Not sure where I should put this, but at least the word miles is being referenced.

Looking back at my logged data, I noted that on April 1, 2013 (when I began running on the C25K plan), it took me 30 minutes to complete 1.5 miles, at 0:19:59 /mi pace.

This morning, I logged a complete 1 mile run at 0:13:33. No walking, but plenty of panting when I finished. :) I can't wait to get my mile back in single digits. I need to record another 1.5 mile run to see how it measures up.

Oh! And I've lost 20 lbs...

Fantastic job Skip! Sometimes you just don't realize how far you've come, and how quickly you've gotten there! Keep up the good work!

At this rate, I'm going to be a monster come April 1, 2014! :)

I think that's been my secret this time around. Instead of taking one step at a time, one day at a time, in the past I'd become disappointed that my effort isn't producing quick results. I'd then push it and get injured or I'd let some excuse get in the way.

I guess, as my 40th birthday is just down the street, maturity gives a different perspective and you are willing to accept slow change. Besides, only slow change creates a permanent change. However permanent life can be...

Miles since 4/1/13 = 283

August = 59 (would've been over 60, but missed a few runs due to work schedule)

For September = 70 to 80 miles

After slumping in July & only running 4 times, 10.1 miles, I bounced back in August & ran 21 times, 87.7 miles! I had my fastest average pace so far too: 7:26/mile!

My total miles for August is 239. With 6 weeks to go to the marathon it means 3.5 more  weeks of high mileage with a 2.5 week taper. Then a well earned rest B)
