I'm new to the forum, but a longtime runner. I found running later in life--relatively so, in my 20s, (I'm 45 now) and have been running everywhere I've lived. My grandfather, who started running in his 50's, got me into running. In SW Virginia, I ran in the Blue Ridge mountains on the Appalachian Trail; in Colorado, I ran around Garden of the Gods, in the Sangre de Cristos, and in the high desert. I do a lot of city running in Philadelphia now, but there is parkland and trails aplenty here, too. I run in few races, but have organized some 5k's for charity.
I run more for the experience, usually by myself, but more recently with partners. I'm glad to find this forum, as I'm hoping for some training advice and help with maintaining and improving performance as a runner as I move into middle age.
