Organizers of next Monday’s Boston Marathon announced this morning that four-time U.S. Olympian Abdi Abdirahman had withdrawn from the race due to the flu. This now leaves only two of the six 2012 U.S. Olympic marathoners — Shalane Flanagan and Kara Goucher — that were originally signed added to the field left.
The others withdrew from the race as follows:
Dec. 28, 2012: Desi Davila withdraws due to a “slow-healing femoral stress fracture of the right leg.”
March 13, 2013: Ryan Hall withdraws because he “missed crucial training due to a quadriceps strain.”
April 5, 2013: Meb Keflezighi pulls out due to “a persistent calf injury.”
April 10, 2013: Abdi Abdirahman drops out due to the flu
Organizers also said that Ukraine’s Tetiana Gamera-Shmyrko had also withdrawn because of an illness.

The US marathoners don't seem to be doing so well heading into this one.  Too bad, it woukd be awesome to see these guys run together in the Boston Marathon.

The odds of seeing Cabada or Hartman being one of the top American's on Monday just got a ton higher!

They both need it, especially Hartman, as he's nearing the end of the road of his running career if he can't lock onto a contract again soon!

I'll be up there, I'll try to provide updates.
